CLA AMG 35
Hi there,
I custom built a 2025 CLA AMG 35 back in July and just received this weekend. Before I picked it up, the dealership offered me "interior/exterior protection".
Since my car's paint is mountain grey magno, I said sure why not. It was my understanding that if anything ever happened to the paint, I would be taken care of. What I did NOT know was that a spray called Resistall Ng2 would be sprayed all over the interior and exterior of my car. I googled this product and it specifically says not to put this on matte paint.
Did the dealership really just ruin the paint on the car I waited 4 months to come in !?! :( Will this product wear off of my car?
I have attached a photo of the car currently. My fear is that the matte look is glossy because of this, but I did not see the car in person beforehand so I am not able to tell what this paint is actually supposed to look like.

It’s hard to say from your pictures, but to me it doesn’t look ruined. In some light Magno paint can look like it has a subtle shine to it.

Here are a few pictures that do just that.

If you have any concerns, I would speak to your dealership. Maybe they could provide another mountain grey matte car that you could compare yours with to put your mind at rest.

It's probably fine.

But if you want to have something that you (or your lawyer, you are in Florida!) could rely on and use in the future if there does turn out to be some degradation of the paint finish, or it adds a shine which you paid extra not to have, then document it all (inc the manufacturers instructions) and request both a read receipt and a written acknowledgement from the dealership to your email.
Or, also go in and deliver it by hand explaining to the dealer principle why you are being cautious (not confrontational)

If ever necessary, a good, professional detailer could remove it, fully decontaminate the car and apply a ceramic coating instead.

PS There are Matte and non Matte ceramics as well.
I had an appropriate one applied to my Matte SLK55 this year, and it does provide a very subtle sheen rather than shine to it, but boy does it mean that less washing and less vigorous washing is needed (bad for Matte paint)
