Guys,

I hope someone can help.
I've just brought a 2006 MY CLK. The sales guy told me that you can fit a cable to control an Ipod. He also said that this cable may well already be there. I have tried to remove the glovebox but I just can't release the right hand side of the glovebox next to the Radio. I have removed all the screws I can see but it will not budge.

Hope someone can help.

TIA

welcome to the forum, moving thread to interior section.

Hi & welcome to the forum.

If you have the AUX port it should be on one of the side walls of the glovebox. I think it's on the left hand side by the door. IIRC correctly cars with COMAND (Sat Nav) have this already. You will need to get a cable for this to connect the AUX port to your Ipod or MiniDisc player.

There is a picture of it here: http://www.pbase.com/clk2/image/41536339

You may not have an AUX port - if not it is fairly easy to mod, costing around £20 from a dealer for the loom.

Thanks for that though I should have been more specific - as my CD Changer is OEM installed into the glovebox... would this use the same optical connection - are the communication interfaces the same spec as I'd much rather have an Ipod or similar rather than 6 CD's...

CD changer = optical
AUX = copper.

You could always remove the cd-changer, or move it somewhere else.
