No denying there are cliques on the forum, but trust me there isn't one preventing this moving forward. Just a simple but critical element. The credentials for the FTP!

I wasn't referring to the mods Graham - more the lack of voting / interest when push comes to shove.

Anyway the people that have voted seem happy enough with the choices so not all bad.

Re. total number of votes, the 'advanced member search' is quite fun/useful if you want to try and nail down 'active users'.

E.g. if you search for members with a post count of 100 or more who have posted anything in the last month you get 225 people (compared to 7,264 members in total). And ...

3,049 members have never posted
1,036 have posted only once
604 have posted only twice
7 have posted more than 5,000 times

etc :)
Steady, Bill - we wouldn't want this to become a discussion...

...er I think we've been through this before...

http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=26245

Just an observation ;)

Again Derek, just one post from you - that's not what I call a discussion, more a statement .

Is this the right room for an argument?

:D

Now come on Stats....

If all those thousands of members have never found anything I've said sufficiently interesting or useful to warrant a response, they're never going to join in your new logo game are they? ;)

Those of us that did vote are within that 150-odd 'core' membership, and surely what we want is more important than what the other 7,114 don't care about.

You obviously went to a lot of trouble to create these pictures, and I think you deserve the respect of receiving votes. However, not everyone sees thing that way, and the vast majorty of forum members probably don't even know there's a poll going on. We know plenty of people don't read every thread. After all, how many duplicated (for example) "Look at what I've found on Ebay" posts do we see?

Don't take it personally, mate!

As for me, I'm happy to have it change daily, weekly, seasonally or whatever, I really don't mind. But if it's going to get you this upset, perhaps we'd better just stick to once every couple of years... :)

It was no more than an hours work - I just find it hard to believe that even the people who supplied the photos took very little interest in what was done with them.

Anyway I suppose the voting count is no worse than a typical election!

I don't mind which one we use - but if it's this much trouble each time we choose a new one - I can't see it happening again.
:D How about ditching this one and going for a winter theme. Sorry Stats I feel your frustration, but it's the thought that counts. You put the work in a perhaps deserve better.

I voted for number 5.... Always reminds me of our Nigel and it has a nice autumn feel, but hey it will soon be Christmas, so perhaps the snow influenced picture might be more appropriate?

Regards,
John

Spot on there mate.

Call me a maverick, a loose cannon, or even the Mel Gibson of MBClub, but I have a kerayzeeee idea... how about Stats chooses? Stats put the hard work in, and has an eye for this sort of stuff ...only fair.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the poll is fair. I suppose I expected more people to throw ideas around or submit their own or challenge the current logo. After all it'd be nice to have your own car up as a logo for a while wouldn't it? I haven't even done one of my own!

If rules and time limits are set by the mods for the submissions / poll then it should run smoother if it happens again.

I just haven't had the time to take a decent shot of mine over the past few weeks. I didn't think a photo of my car in the long stay carpark at Birmingham airport was particularly seasonal!

But I agree; my car should be up there :)

Stats - I hadn't planned to submit my own creation, but I thought I would have a response so far. Here goes...

Unable to get the text quite right though - could you add it for me please?

Cheers

That might explain the bumpy ride!! :D

Just tried again and I'm struggling as the original image is only 400px wide. Feel free to have a go with the original...

Here you go - as you say it's a little limited by the size of the original:

That's quite nice though the text could be a bit clearer.
