Good morning all.

New owner and first post so apologies if posted in the wrong area

I acquired a 03 93,000 mile C320 Avantgarde this Tuesday. Good service history, excellent condition overall and delivered to me with a new MOT and a 2 year warranty for £4050.

My local MB specialist in Downton (Headlands Garage) thought it would have been around £5-5,000!

The only things slightly bugging me are the interior lights, neither the front or rear interior lights operate from any door although the front one works when manually switched and comes on when the key is removed. Any ideas? I cannot imagine all 4 door switches would fail.

The only other slight irritant is the inertia reel on the drivers side squeeks when I move back and forward so I intend to remove the trim and carefully spray silicon lubricant onto the mechanism unless this a bad idea?

The MOT had no advisories but there is a slight "clonk" from the offiside front over rough tracks and potholes, notrhing on normal roads. My local specialist is seeing it next Friday to do the A service (due in 800 miles anyway) and give it a general check over.

Thank you in anticipation of expert advice.

Regards

David

They only work when it is dark.

Thanks for the reply.

They do not work in the dark either.

IIRC from my E (and assuming it's the same for the C), you can turn the light action on or off. Best to check in the manual or have a play with the menu (convenience functions).

Just been down to the car and cannot find anything in the menu on the computer. I can change delay in turning off, locator lighting, headlamps auto or nbot etc but nothing that disables the interior lights..

I am probably doing something dim!

Thank you, my thoughts as well but surprised at least there was no advisory on the MOT carried out Tuesday but MOT testers are all very different in what they report and pass / fail.
