Hi all,
Purchased my 1st ever MB in Jan this year. It's a mint 2000 CL500 with only 73k on the clock. It is such a beautiful car to drive, I just hope that it wont break the bank with failures for its age.
As it happens it has just had it's 1st fault. Whilst driving it will, suddenly cough & splutter as if there is a fuel block, it will, after a while suddenly respond & then speed up due to my foot on the peddle, then slow & stop!!!!If I'm luck she will get over it & continue. This has happened when I have being both stationery & driving through town!!!!
Once I have pushed the beast to the side & tried to avoid all eyes looking at such a beautiful car with laughs & titters, I try to start her up. It sparks as if it will kick in, but then dies.....this happens after each attempt. I then leave it for a while which can be anything from a 1-3, to maybe 10-15 mins!!!!!! But it will eventually spark to life.
I haven't lost the skip of the heart when I see "mercy" on the drive, but I have decided to leave her at home 'til I can find a good MB garage near to me in Wandsworth, that is both reasonably priced & comes highly recommended by such seasoned owners on this forum
