New Member - E36 AMG

Hello everyone! Yesterday i purchased a 1997 W210 E36 AMG Saloon, its replaced my MK4 Golf GTI as my daily car and the MK4's gone in for a show build.

You may have guessed i have Defected from VW after owning far to many, im now down to the MK4 and my Camper, i wanted something nice and comfortable but a bit special at the same time

So...... obviously a E36 was the answer!

Its in reasonably good shape rust wise, as i had heared some horror stories about them, and i was reminded after i bought it that my dad got rid of his after a year because of the rust. Engines a stormer, i love it, kick down all functioning right an cruise control! yes! im an old man now (nearly 26 dont you know)

Plans for it are...... as i type its being valeted and machine polished, the paint is swirls ahoy.

also i went over to Star garage near me after a quick search on here threw up their name, the knocing noise turned out to be the AC compressor so the panics subsided, and its booked in for a service next week.....

The wheels need to be refurbed asap....to corroded for my liking!

And the headlights are just rubbish, 'fogged up' so any suggestions what i can do with these please do let me know!

I'l get some pictures up in the relevant section once its polished up

Yeah i saw that when i started googling as il be honest.....i didnt even know they existed, never seen one before, only E55's

Before the E55 there was an E50 too.
It was after the E36 only around for a year or so.

Snap! Just couldn't bring myself to sell it, insurance, tax and MOT cost me less than a pair of tyres for the C43 and I love having something that's almost a van, with 7 seats and no fear of potholes.

The AMG is.. less than suited to snow.

I think you may find that the headlights may be scuffed. Its really common on 210's as (IIRC) the lenses are plastic. Bearing in mind the "swirly paint" you mention, it may be that its been a "carwash" car ?

well..... its half done!

Cleaned all over, Front wings, bonnet and bumper have been machine polished an waxed, then ran out of time! sort the rest after the weekend when my detailer man can return.
