Has anyone tried to remove the clear plastic coating that's there to protect the carbon fibre on the door sills of an SLS? According to my local Mercedes dealer, it was originally an option on the car. It's also on the carbon fibre door mirror housings.
I'd like to remove it as it's slightly scuffed. If no-one knows I'll get my friend who has a business wrapping cars to take a look. Hopefully he can remove and replace it with a new clear cover. I asked the dealer if they could do it, but no. They say it was only an option that could be ordered at time of original purchase. Any ideas?

I had mine removed and re-wrapped, also had the bonnet, front bumper, headlights, front roof section and panel in front of the rear wheels wrapped

ps, check out Renntech front splitter.....

Many thanks for the info - much appreciated! Was it straightforward to remove?

That looks great! And no difference in clearance too. Definitely needs to go on Xmas wish list!
