Car
C class coupe
Hi Guys

Just picked up some stuff for my new car what order should this be used?

Poorboys White Diamond
Poorboys EX-P
Poorboys Polish with wax

I will be washing with meguiars gold class shampoo.

Was also going to invest in some nattys wax paste or similar?

Cheers!

is that right Image? must admit ive done it other way round before now..

fair enough will give that way a go :)

Rich

the seal has to go on first to get it to stick properly to the paint and then wax over the top to add to the longevity of the process you should see roughly 6 months from a sealant then using it in this order. If you do it the other way round the sealant does not stick to the paint properly due to the layer of wax between the sealant and paint and therefore wont last as long

Hope this makes sense

aye seems so obvious when you think about it lol. prob not noticed because i wax my car a few times a month lol :)

I'll be picking up the Auto Glym HD wax in the very near future so cant wait to try that out. Super resin polish, high gloss sealer then HD :)

Can confirm I got it in the wrong order, seal then wax.

Odd that no-one has yet mentioned making sure the paint is in top condition before applying all this expensive gunk!

Wash - clay - wash, then inspect paintwork for swirls, loss of colour due to oxidation etc.

If found necessary from inspection, correct paint with appropriate product (AG Bodyshop 02B, 3M etc) with either loads of elbow grease, a DA polisher with appropriate pads or a pro rotary mop if you're really confident of your abilities!!

Then polish, seal and wax. Claying is only necessary every 6-12 months, paint correction once done and kept protected should last longer than that.

OK, it's a pfaff and takes time, but the results can be amazing - made an incredible difference to my 968 coupe Guards Red, I've also seen the benefit on the 968 cab and both MB estates.

did all that to mine before sending it in for a full MOP. looks incredible now, so just talking top ups :)

More of a meguires fan myself m105 for a cut m205 to polish both applied with a rotary and some foam pads and then topped off with some dodo juice purple haze pro applied by hand, not a fan of sealants prefer a good wax nice deep dripping wet finish.

Want to try the show car finish glaze before a wax to see how that comes out supposed to give an even better finish

I have some Finish Kare stuff too, a range of their products which seems very good from what i've used too.

Is all this needed with a lighter paint finish like my silver, I can understand if its a dark or black car, the results look amazing, like mirrors......but with a light finish I don't see it being half as noticeable?

100% know what you mean. theres arguments for ang against i guess but you certainly dont get the benefit on silver like you do on black etc. just a nice sold protective coat to keep the weather off and the paint in decent condition id say and thats coming from me whos **** about keeping my car clean but it is jet black haha.

I don't know, I can get my non metallic white E Cabrio to have a deep glossy reflective finish when I'm done with it

so in some respects it is quite noticeable, much easier to maintain as well :)

White does show up well its just silver that struggles.

I also found my silver S203 was a swine to get looking really good, even after a clay and DA paint correct - but conversely, it never looked dirty either, until you looked close. The current Carneol Red looks superb when polished, but shows the dust and dirt a lot more - so I get earache from SWMBO about washing "her" car for her!! And despite the fact that she's supposedly responsible for the interior, I got earache this afternoon about the state of that!!
