Hi

I currently own a 1992 Mercedes 230TE W124 which I bought as a bit of a project but now use ( when I can!) as my daily car. I didn't realise how difficult sourcing certain parts would be or how expensive they are directly for older vehicles from Mercedes itself. I do wonder at times how much Merc care for thieir own brand or just want to sell new cars ?

I've not needed to buy any parts from MB recently for my 1997 R129, but previously the pricing has generally seemed OK. I know some parts are now no longer available, but is it realistic to expect manufacturers to keep stocks of everything for all their models just in case someone asks for one 30+ years later? :dk:

Welcome to MBClub.

Getting parts for current models is a nightmare at the moment. I suspect it may actually be easier to get some parts on older models as there’s not the pressure to use parts supply for production rather than after sales.

Try google, ebay etc if possible with item part numbers.
I don't have much of a problem with spares for my 1960 W121-190B, expensive yes
Expensive cars have expensive parts.
