Had misfortune of flat tyre in my new Sprinter Van yesterday – rather then call Mobilo and wait hrs (with commercial vehicles they take forever as always very busy and fleet customers tend to get priority) so I drove the vehicle down to ATS as it was just down the road and there was still plenty of air in the wheel to do so without damaging the actual steel wheel.

DO NOT USE these monkeys!!! – the tyre was badly damaged and therefore a replacement was required (which in the end cost me £125 quid… ouch). I had requested for an identical Continental tyre (215/70/R15 - same as originals) to be fitted. The lazy so called “tyre fitter” claimed they did no have the Continental and instead produced a Michlien tyre – when I asked for them to order one in from another branch located not too far and to check for stock locally the Manager “suddenly” produced the Continental tyre after spending 25mins looking for it in the shed/storeroom at the back.

I watched the incompetent moran the whole time whilst he replaced the tyre through the glass in the waiting room from the waiting area and he did not even rebalance the wheel or fit new balancing clips/weights which I had clearly requested from the start. When I had questioned him “have you balanced wheel properly mate…. “ he replied “yeap…” and when I said “are you sure now… I don’t think you have…” he got the hump and went and did what he was supposed to on the machine. He also placed the incorrect tyre pressure and it was way too low (which I had to sort out myself afterwards).

NEVER again will I use these Morans… Once the new tyre has worn/settled in a little bit (first 60 miles…) I will drive the vehicle at speed on motorway to see if I get any vibration through steering wheel – if so then its gona mean another trip to the Zoo to get them to sort out the balancing.

I tend to avoid these national tyre chains. Go somewhere local with a good reputation. They tend to work smarter and better and care much more about what they do.

I've had a couple of problems with Kwickfit and complained to their head office, they took it very seriously and I received several follow up calls. This did regain my faith in them and I've used them quite happily since without any problems.

Probably will do in future but this place was only 5mins down road and I did not want to use the spare unecessarily and the "Zoo" was well in ranage withou causing any damage to the vehicle/steel wheel at slow speed.

If the balancing has not been done propelry then I will def complain to head Office. Without meaning to sound harsh but most of their staff/trainees appear to be school leavers without any qulaificatiosn or on rehab or something.... and lack customer service skills. Made me laugh/chuckle though as the Manager referred to me as "boyzeee.... vans ready"
