Hi there,

May I know if I can mount this type of tyre (225/55 R 16 95H M+S) on my Mercedes W211 Elegance of September 2004 .

Thanks in advance.

M + S indicates that this is a winter tyre (and H is a low speed rating) - so not really a good tyre for this time of year

A winter tyre is indicated by the snowflake in the mountain symbol.
M+S is pretty meaningless, as everyone knows it stands for mud & snow, but to qualify it only needs 25% of the tread to be open, Whether it is good in mud or snow is not measured.

We do not know where the OP lives, maybe a M+S is what he is looking for?

That is ok with this all information.
Thanks

Personally I always read 'M + S' as a winter tyre - though you are perhaps corret to point out that this is may not be the original intent of the designation. This is what it says at Tire - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mud and Snow, (or M+S, or M&S), is a classification for specific winter tires designed to provide improved performance under low temperature conditions, compared to all-season tires. The tread compound is usually softer than that used in tires for summer conditions, thus providing better grip on ice and snow, but wears more quickly at higher temperatures. Tires may have well above average numbers of sipes in the tread pattern to grip the ice.

Dedicated winter tires will bear the "Mountain/Snowflake Pictograph" if designated as a winter/snow tire by the American Society for Testing & Materials. Winter tires will typically also carry the designation MS, M&S, or the words MUD AND SNOW (but see All-season tires, below).

And if samali lives on one of the polar caps, it might have been wise of him to say so....otherwise I will assume otherwise :)

I assumed he stayed somewhere warm with mud roads when it rained & that's why he wanted to fit M+S tyres and not winter tyres. Maybe he can enlighten us?
