Hi
I'm new here and I did have a company C220 CDI Blue Efficiency 10 plate that I only got to do 6000 miles in before taking voluntary redundancy. Loved it too. Man can that thing go!
Anyway, I needed a runabout until I get another job sorted out and bought a 1999 C200 auto. Think I've fallen in love with this already 96K miles FSH and everything works apart from the aircon. I know it's not really aircon weather here in the UK at the moment but I did have a little poke around just to see if it was anything simple. The EC light goes on and off but the compressor clutch does not cut in. I tried turning the end of the pulley by hand and it will rotate about 270 degrees but then goes solid. Anyone know if this is just compression or a sized pump? Doesn't feel right though, feels like metal rubbing just before it goes solid. I'm not sure why the clutch is not working but I guess it may have been disconnected somewhere if the pump is seized. Anyone here had a seized pump?
Thought I'd say hi anyway and if anyones had this it might stop my OCD type personality from getting too obsessed by this problem if I know it's going to be expensive ;-)
