Newbe with a couple of questions

Hi to you all, I am a newbie to this forum but been a member of the other forum for some time. I currently have two, 210 MBs a 2001, 320CDI in Uk & recently bought a 1997 2.9td here in Russia where I am working. The 2.9 is in many ways is in better condition than the 2001 car, before purchase I checked all the known rust points & can find no rust anywhere. The 2.9 is obviously nowhere near as powerful or refined as the 320CDI but I am impressed with it all the same.
I have a couple of questions about the 2.9td . It is listed as a 602 engine same as in the Sprinters. Reading though the searches the 2.9 in the Eclass is rated at 127HP & the Sprinter engine at 102HP,does anyone know what the differences are or is it just a de-rating of the fuel pump.
I have talked to various Sprinter owners & one in particular has 460,000kms on his without any trouble. From what I can find out these engines seem to be very reliable. Does any members know of any known problems with these engines. Or own Sprinters with high mileages & what problems they have had with them.
I will no doubt have many questions for you all in the future but this is enough for now.

The G WAGEN was available with a 290 turbo diesel engine quoted with 88Kw 120hp 280Nm torque at 1900rpm so you might find a visit to the G WAGEN owners forums a useful source of info. http://www.gwoa.co.uk/index.php

That is a good engine, it's the old 5 pot direct injection and will return big mileages and good economy.
The power outputs are probably governed by the size of turbo, intecooler an dthe fuelling.

Just drive it and enjoy..

The links look very usefull.
I have never heard any bad reports about these engines yet,even on high Km/miles vehicles.They are a little noisey at low RPMs but once up to speed they are quiet & smooth enough. The noise doesnt bother me though as I much prefer diesel to petrol power.
