Ok...based in Manchester and just bought a W124...145k with service history...Leather ...no aircon !!! da

Smooth as a silk cod piece and in great condition... new wings

only bug bear is the 22 to the gallon and creaking interior?
(Drivers seat anyone have any solutions to it )


Bought it instead of a van, seems to be doing the job at the moment...cant believe how much stuff I can get in it..

just figured out I can take the rear seat bottoms out for more room .

Welcome to the forum - I presume it is an estate ?

Leather interiors often seem to creak a little here and there , mildly annoying but nothing to worry about .

The only issue of concern with the 280 and 320 engines alike is the engine wiring loom which sometimes suffers from deterioration of the insulation and can lead to strange electrical malfunctions - a new loom is about £400 but an easy DIY job to replace .

It is also worth checking the condition of brake pipes/fuel pipes/hydraulic pipes for the self levelling suspension underneath at the back of the car as they sometimes corrode due to road salts building up - parts are cheap but job can be a bit of a fiddle to do .

Other than that , not a lot goes wrong with them .
