Nice 2.5-16v w201

No history since 1998 plus stored for circa 4 years.

I bet it will need some work!

not a fan of the aftermarket SEC style Grill. reminds me of of a friends dad who had one on his w124 back in the early 90's. He also had large Porcelain Tigers either side of his fireplace in his lounge. Another No No in my book:D

Lets hope the car was kept in that garage with the nice green door :-)

Low owners, rare colour, leather, seems unmolested bar the SEC grill but that could be just a early 90's mod that the original owner had done, old school stereo, orange indicators, original wheels, low miles,.... which should be revealed to be genuine or not, upon inspection.

If theres no rust, could be abit of a find.... If it was £1500 quid cheaper it would be become seriously tempting. An MOT would also help make it more viable.

well i should have gone with my original instincts... instead i did the 200 mile round trip tonight and wasted my time.

The owner made it sound a perfect car... he even put a new MOT on it today as he thought id be taking it away.

- All tyres perished - should never have passed MOT
- all shocks need replacing
- car would not restart easily when warm
- electric windows intermittent
- car over heated badly due to viscous fan coupling being shot
- all four corners of lower sills welded badly
- had some impact on n/s/r back door as bad mismatch and sill out of shape here
- rust under arch trims.
- engine spluttery
- rev counter intermittent
- LCD display bled (minor)
- car smelt damp inside
- knocking from suspension

basically all the things youd expect for a car thats been sitting for so long.

On the plus side, the engine did pull well and no smoke at all.

Oh well... off to bed.

woof woof !!!!

did you find out where the 5th door was?
