I have a 3 litre turbo diesel sprinter (903) 1999 auto.
the bowden cable (control pressure cable in merc speak) was incorrectly fitted - i have fitted it correctly now (gearbox end)- but i still do not get kickdown... it 'feels' right - ie theres pressure / feeling there.
bypassing the kickdown switch gives a high rev in 1st - but not in 2nd or 3rd...then it just drives off as if you have 1/4 throttle on - so changes up very early.
theres no adjustment on the cable that I can see..
vacuum pipe connected on other side (whats the control knob on the side of the 'box for? it turns 180 degrees and makes very little difference to the drive)
my WIS system (cars only) keeps banging on about the cable adjustment - but mine doesnt have any.
Its a 4 speed non-electronic box..
any ideas?
