Nokia cradle

Does the Nokia cradles work on a fuse? I have a Nokia cradle in my E320CDI, and I bought a MBU-1000. The MBU-1000 worked perfect in the previous 320, which had the cradle in the center armrest. The car I have now has got the Nokia cradle attached to the dashboard by the audio. The MBU-1000 clips in and sits fine, but there`s no life at all. Do I need to use the small plastic areal?

Can you post a photo from that other cradle? Are you sure it isn't an after market Nokia car kit? If it is an MB cradle, check the connector pins and check the fuse for the phone control unit. Perhaps the control unit has been removed or unplugged.

Do you have the phone menu at the instrument cluster?

The car is a V reg, `99 registered 7/12 1999

The cradle,I have since realised, is not fitted properly, it has got a speaker underneath seperately and not wired through the audio. I will have to take it out and start again. As I havent got te cradle in the arm rest option, what would be the best option?
