Nokia N97 Mercedes SAP

Anyone successfully used the Nokia N97 with the Mercedes Bluetooth SAP module?

If so any problems? SMS and address book download work OK in Comand APS?

One more question will SAP module display SMS messages in cluster or Comand?

I can't comment on the N97 but I can confirm that the MB SAP module does display SMS messages via COMAND.

Car I'm using it with is a CLS if that makes a difference.

My 2000 CL500 only displays them on the COMAND screen. Yours is a later implementation of COMAND, so may display them on the cluster as well.

At least the W221 only shows SMS messages on the Comand screen. I would not read messages anyway from the cluster screen where less space is reserved for this, would make reading difficult (although reading while driving is possible while writing messages is disabled).

I would think your phone would work, the latest nokias all use SAP I think. My Nokia 6500 works perfectly with my bluetooth module and displays the SMS texts on the COMAND screen, not the cluster. It also reads them out.

One small thing to be aware of is that SMS messages received whilst connected to the SAP module are stored on the phone's SIM card and must be transferred from there to the phone's memory before they can be read on the phone.

Probably, Im not 100% sure. When I read the text on the screen I get an option to read aloud. It maybe an option available with Linguatronic only.
