Can you confirm what time you would be looking at meeting?

you gonna join us? Be brill if you could :D :D

A colleague of mine lives 3 miles from that pub, he said to watch out for the unmarked police car - blue subaru impreza. Apparently the A-road approaching the pub is quite long, straight and popular with bikers and boy racers.

Right All being well its looking good. :D Sisters 16th Bday  Makes me feel old. So need to be back for 4 ish so that gives me at least a couple of hours

Whats the best way to come up? Dont usually venture up these parts. Autoroute is putting me up the M6, M62, A 682 Or would it be better to come M1 through Bradford / Leeds nah saturday afternoon think M6 would be best.

you have arrived,,,

To me, being a bit of a local, that looks like it will take you off the M ways far too early and then plant you into lots of urban roads, like Bradford, Shipley, etc. If I was you I would stay on the M6 until the A65 Skipton turn off then follow the map on Schudes' attachment.

I'm sorry to pull out of this but I can't make it, combination of fractured wrist and bruised ribs.
The only way to cure either is rest I'm afraid.

Count me in for the next one though, assuming I've developed some lifestyle skills by then, like the ability to stay upright :D

I'm with Dave, as a local, stay well away from the A6177 you'll be on it for days trying to work out which way to go.

Just my opinion, stay on the M6 and come off at Jct 29 onto the M65 Blackburn/Burnley road.
Turn off this onto the A682 and then A65. Slightly longer (but quicker) and no chance of getting lost.
The Skipton turn off, A59 is Jct 31 and isn't signposted for Skipton anyway.

I will be doing this:
M62 W
M60 SW
M61 N
call in for breakfast at a friend's house @ Chorley
M61 N
M65 E turn off before Colne and then
A682 N

I will be using comand for navigation but that seems like a good route to me :)

You really should stop frequenting the Harp of Erin Ray ;) , especially on Giro days. Either that or pay the tinkers a fair price for scrap lead then your walk home wouldnt get, shall we say?, interupted?

Dave.

I wasn't going to post untill I was sure that I could make it.
Won't be able to stay for long as I have another commitment later on but will show my face and come and say hello.
Not too sure which car I will be in. If its fine I may bring "sheepy" for its last run out before it goes back in the garage for winter.
