OBD on 2001 R129 SL500

Can anyone tell me where the OBD port is please - do I have to remove fascia under steering wheel - by pedals ?

On a 2001 its just a plug under the console by the accelerator pedal.

Thanks - I must be going mad because I can't find it.

I've had my iPhone poked up everywhere under the footwell and photo'd everything but, apart from the courtesy light, there's nothing there.

I'm pretty sure I've found it before as I did stone OBD checking when I bought my OBD meter last summer.

Oh well I'll keep looking

My conclusion is that my particular car doesn't have one...

It continues to evade me and everyone else who has searched for it

Some research online suggests that EU cars got the ports later than 2001 - maybe my car is one of the last not to have one...?
