Hi Guys

Sorry but I need your expert assistance yet again.

Further to the local dealer sorting the problem with the split Kompressor hose, I was thinking today how good it is to not have a light on in the dash when...

Well there's still no light on in the dash but the car just lost power at a crucial moment. I was turning right in to a side road, so I floored it and nothing happened:crazy: I just started to creep slowly and eventually made it. I cannot drive like this it is plain dangerous. Any ideas?

When I switch off and restart it acts as normal for a couple of seconds and then the accelerator pedal just goes dead. I could floor it all the way and only build up speed VERY slowly.

It points to a MAS I know but a) Ollie says they do not go on these cars or at least he has never seen one go b) I had one replaced 6 weeks ago!

No nasty noises no obvious hoses loose in the engine bay this seems all electrical to me (as it is ok when switched off and on for 2 secs)

Please, any ideas would be so welcome.

Many thanks

Going home now. I will think about it for a bit and let you know.

Thanks Ollie

Just a small update engine light is now ON, car revs verrrrrry slowly until 2000 rpm then goes a little quicker but still feels like a 1.2!

Any chance it could be a Kompressor issue? I suppose it would still feel like a stock 1.8 minus the Kompressor or would the ECU not work it like that?

Cheers

On the C32 this is usually indicative of the intercooler pump failing

when mine failed I also lost power and the car went into limp mode but my alternator decided to fail at the same time so I seemed to be loosing all sorts of things

are you getting any error messages?

check the hoses to the intercooler, we have had this issue before...

The fault codes need to be read first to find out what is causing the light to come on.

It maybe a boost pipe fallen off or loose. It maybe as simple as that. Get the codes read then go from there.

Let me know what the are.

Thanks all, back online now.

the partial vent/Kompressor hose is nowhere to be seen and there is a bit of oil down near the base of the engine where there shouldn't be any!

Is this indicative of the K hose going AWOL and if so it's probably the dealers fault as they replaced it 3 weeks ago!

If it is there will be murder as they had already decimated my air intake pipe at the front and I had to return for a new one!

Anyone have any ideas how I should approach this at the dealership?

What if they say it's something else and even charge me to do it rather than admit their (allegedly) shoddy workmanship?

Just go back. Most dealers will be honest about making a muck up and will be keen to rectify the issue.

Have them look under the bonnet with you and explain the fault to you before working on the car.

Hello again hearty comrades

Cannot go back to the dealers until Wednesday, chockablock with all the new registrations probably needing PDI's.

Anyhow this aside the car has driven fine this morning (have not been out in it at all over the weekend) and although the light stayed on it has subsequently gone back off! I did fiddle with a couple of hoses on Sunday to see if they were loose, I wonder whether I did anything, I have never heard of a light going off before??

Could this go away for good or could it be something more sinister than a minor glitch?

Scared the hell out of me!

Take it back to the dealer.

It would have logged a code even if the light has gone out.

Will do on Wednesday.

Ok this happened again today and freaked me out.

After the car had been off for 2 minutes it was fine again.

What exactly is the problem with the throttle? Anyone know what the diagnostice readout means?
