2010 c63 amg
Hi Everyone.
I have owned an MY10 C63 AMG for 3 and a half years now but when I took the car in for its annual service I was infomed there was an oil leak possibly from the oil cooler. I took it in yesterday for a full hour diagnostic which I was charged £144. I have been quoted a total of £808.42 to replace an oil cooler and hoses. The full estimate is enclosed. Now for me this very expensive but I am planning to sell the car in the next few months so this repair will have to be carried out but my question is where: Will buyers expect that the car is repaired with an offical mercedes sticker or should I considor an independent? What would you do?

1) Bite the bullet and use this offical garage(it will help retain cars value when I sell.
2) Use another official mercedes garage?
3) Use an independant garage?
OR anything else?

If you know of a good independent garage in the Manchester/Lancs area, please let me know.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If the repair is effective, regardless of where the work is carried out, the buyer will be none the wiser...

The oil cooler on mine had a leaky seal not long after delivery. Much of the labour charge is taking the front bumper off to access it.

I would use a good independent, with OEM parts - it may only be a seal.

How big is the leak? If you are intending on trading it in why not just clean it up and flog it on? If selling I privately, then I would repair it.

Don't think so, think mine was poorly fitted from factory.

Thanks for the replies. I am intending to sell the car within the next 2 months, most likely to trade. Therefore how much I spend now and how much I am offered is the key here. If I sold it as the car is now would the value of the car be devalued £800 here?
