oil for my 500 coupe

hi guys , can any onee tell me what oil to use in my 500 sec 1993 model (c140) as i am servicing it tommorow... semi or fully synthetic. i normally shop at german and swedish.. also would a oil filter from theem be ok.

I've got the saloon version and it's had Mobil Super S in it since new. I think it's what the dealers used, although I get it serviced by an Independant.

I think it's a semi synthetic oil, not too sure. I definately kn ow it's not fully synthetic, that oil's far too thin for these older engines. Least that's what I'm told.

Fully synthetic is the best engine oil currently available, simple as that provided your car doesn't burn oil or you'd be wasting money. Buy a known brand. I'd personally recommend a 5W/40 grade, but that's a personal choice. GSF I think supply Mann filters, no problem there.

A 10w40 semisynthetic such as shell helix 10w40 or Millers XSS10w40 http://www.millersoils.net/ should be fine

I use Millers XSS and havent ever had a problem with it, Oh dear, kiss of death post
