In my opinion this is right up there with the best looking cars ever made, and way ahead of it's time too. Some of you will disagree I'm sure.

I had my first drive of one a month ago. A bit slow but very smooth.

Ah another person who doesn't realise that MBclub is actually the Citroen DS and SM appreciation society. It's easily done.

Great cars.

Corrected that for you ;)

Lovely cars indeed.

One of the coolest cars ever ? Yes

One of the best looking ? No

I think they look great , never driven one though .., saw this in middle Temple last week

2.3 litres in the DS23 Ian. That produced the grand total of 141 bhp so a bit under-engined even then. Of course the 2.7 V6 in the SM is much more poky (and mine will be much more so when I have it fiddled with!).

The DS-23i outperformed it's contemporaries from BMW and Mercedes.

A DS-5 Super, I think. Gets most of the pallas trim but different. A nice version the, last series front wings and faired in lights, but still retains the push button door handles, hard rimmed steering wheel and metal dash.

Beautiful. As a callow youth I knew a guy who had one of these. Guess who got the girls...:D

Though, they are very spacious in the back.

Funny you mention that....Nicole (a French teaching assistant) did have very long legs. My theory is that she found the car a comforting reminder of La Belle France. Nobody could see what she saw in the guy (I can even remember his name:eek:) other than the car. I was very jealous of that car :D:D

I believe the BBC used to use them as camera cars as they provided a very smooth platform at horse racing events.

Most girls don't actually want to ride in tricked up Nissan Skyline's, they want someone who is individual.

To you, your mate was a nerd, to the girls he was a free thinker and his own man, comfortable in his individuality.

I wanted a Citroen CX when I was 19, but the insurance was cripplingly expensive.

I've been out in one of my old sheds this evening, just for a drive. They really do glide along.

I'd rather have herpes than anything French, but now and again I might make an exception for a CX.
