As the 'Judder' problem with the GLC/C is gaining momentum wondered if it would be worth while starting a poll of owners and whether or not they are experiencing this problem? Assume the Administrator would need to set it up?

Bouncing would be ideal.

Will there be dancing?

Wow, I thought my sense of humour was bad!! Assume neither of you have a GLC/C class? As for the poll excuse my earlier typo not sure whether it will gain momentum but the more this topic is kept alive the better it will be for all those concerned.

I feel this is a good idea for W205 C Class owners as you (D200) are being swept along by the GL concerns.

Whilst it's the same platform it's a completely different geometry - higher up, if you like.

You need to be model specific to raise concerns with your dealer, so go for it.

Entirely agree - a decent C Class sample size is important for you.

Separate GLC from C in the poll.

Create the poll DRIVER200!

Logistically will be difficult though, unless you're just looking for what models it's effecting.

I guess you could make it solely for members who are having the issues, and then just ask their model of car, but there are too many vairables! Engine size, 2wd/4wd, tire size etc

Yes agree with all above but aside from this I wonder out of all C43 cars sold in the UK(as this model is the only model I am concerned about) this forum will have a very small percentage of owners. But there are already a few experiencing this problem so if you do some fancy calculations based on the number of owners using the forum factored in to actual owners it already looks pretty bad.

I think the best thing to do in your situation is to throughly test drive the exact model you've ordered and see for yourself. Raise your concerns with the dealer and then see what they say.

If there's no judderring on your test drive, and you've bought your concerns to the dealer, then I'd say that you'd be perfectly placed to reject the car if it shows theses "characteristics" on your vehicle once delivered. But that works both ways, if the car you test drive does judder, then it's a choice for you to either cancel the order on that basis, or accept the car and never speak of it again.

I think it would be best to just cancel your order tbh and go back to an Audi.

Its a tricky one as did test drive both the C43/63 and no hint of this but as I wasn't deliberately using full-lock repeatedly probably wouldn't have noticed anyway. One of the big problems is 'timing' if I cancel the order and order another new +£40,000 car (from any manufacturer) It will no doubt be after the new VED hike in April and even though in the overall scheme of things its just a few hundred £'s more each year I don't wont to give HMRC anymore than I have to.

Seconded...why buy a car with a known issue which, in your heart of hearts, you know will not get resolved satisfactorily.

Bit harsh Allan, I can understand his concern spending lots of his own hard earned cash. :)

Go back with a specific test drive in mind :)

Early so it's cold, ask that they don't warm the car up, and use full lock in forward and reverse. You won't even need to leave the car park and will take 5 mins.

Unfortunately I sold my (perfectly good) Audi back to them so sort of committed to the Mercedes. Deep down I don't see myself cancelling the order as this problem -should I experience it- will be at low speeds when the car is under full-lock at least in most cases as there are some forum members who appear to be experiencing this problem at greater speeds and under different modes of maneuvering. But should it hit the fan for MB they will be obliged to accept responsibility and fix it so perhaps a properly resolution will be available to owners in the future.

Is that not a risky strategy?

A little bit of aggro now could save you a lot of heartache in the future.

Maybe, but my view -today- is that if the car is all I expect to be in terms driving dynamics, style and prestige then I will be happy enough. If the only fly in the ointment is the Judder problem which MB are well aware of and may at some point sort it out FOC. Don't fully understand what you mean by ''saving me heartache in the future''?
