Opinions please on this petrol e class

Does seem to be good value although I don't know what the book price is.

Higher road tax but offset with hopefully no dopey diesel engine issues.

Not sure I like the interior colour but I would overlook it if the car was straight and running well at that price.

That mileage is nothing really if looked after.

Annoys me when you don't get larger pictures - makes me wonder what they are covering up - and then I start thinking why is it apparently so cheap!

Needs further investigation...

Yes, it does look a nice one, and as the advert says, it has the 3.0 Mercedes petrol engine renound for its surprising ecomony.

Oh for a spell checker on car sales sites!

Looks good value but things are usually cheap for a reason, that said I'd definitely view it that engine is bomb proof and plenty of life left in it yet, let us know how you get on

Appears good value. Personally, I would miss memory seats and dimming mirrors.

For me this looks a very well cared for car, and at that price well worth a look but would still negotiate an even lower price as it's this side of Christmas.
I love the interior and it's the Elegance.

It's a lot of car for 5k. Nowhere I the ad does it mention being HPI clear, might be worth a cheap check based on the VRM which is clear in the ads, could be a Cat D.

A very good point.
Another reason it could be so cheap is because finance company's are reluctant to lend money for a car with over 100,000 miles on the clock, which I was told a few years ago by a car dealer when p/x my Jag X type with 103,000 on the clock. But would work in your favour if your a cash buyer.

COMAND nav (£2k option) but no heated seats (£320)? Odd. Also, no rear parking sensors, which I find invaluable on a car of this length.

If you can cope with the interior colour, looks like a nice, if somewhat basic spec car. Exterior looks to be Cubanite in some of the pictures (the best colour) and boggo silver in the others (yawn).

If you view it, check the tailgate carefully: the rear light sections look slightly misaligned to me, but that could just be an effect of the unfamiliar low angle of the photo.

I phoned the seller today and he is happy to take the car in for an inspection at a garage of my choice. It's located 200 miles from me so I figure an inspection prior to viewing is the best option.

Can anyone recommend a garage in the Knutsford area?

Got to be MSL I would have thought although not really local.

Be worth the journey...

Thanks everyone for the assistance. I decided it was time for a change so got an XC60 instead.:bannana:

Good luck with it!

Make sure the 7 speed box works as it should. I had a £525 repair bill on my CLK.
Good luck.

Lol, spot the posters who missed post #12.
