ordered my first AMG E63

Hi everyone,

I am extremely excited after driving quite a few Mercedes over the past few years (W204 C Class 220 cdi sports, then C 350 cdi and until now my current e350 cdi sport - love them all three but prefer the E-Class for comfort and extra space) that I purchased an AMG e63 6.2 palladium silver and with AMG Performance package. The car will be ready for collection this Friday (so I cannot wait to see it again and drive!).

I also had the great opportunity to have done the half day AMG experience at Brooklands driving AMG e63 5.5, so I know how great this car is... and I would recommend anyone to do it (if you get the opportunity), as you really get some valuable driving teaching lessons on the track, wet road for drifting etc.

Upon reading lots of threads and websites to know which engine I should go for, it was clear to me that the 6.2 engine remains the best AMG car ever made for naturally aspirated v8 growling sound. I know that the 5.5 is quicker but only marginally. So as the sound is very important to me and that there are a few cars of this engine size being on sale at the moment, I had to get one before it is too late...

I am so looking forward to being on Friday right now... Is there anyone driving the same car who could give me some advice, tips et?

I think you did exactly the right thing - everyone should own/drive a 6.2 at least once - it's a fantastic engine.

I very nearly bought a 6.2 E63 Last week but ended up with a 5.5 Biturbo as Merc wearen't playing ball on the 6.2.

Mine comes with AMG Performance Package, Comand system, rear entertainment video system, no sunroof and no dynamic front seats (unfortunately), Amg differential lock, very low mileage (main reason for choosing it under 9k!), memory package, parktronic, cruise control, light package, tracker, spare wheel, bluetooth phone connection ready, larger fuel capacity, 19' alloys & Palladium grey silver Metallic paint... Will definitely share pics as soon as the car arrives...
