Original Radio

Hello All,

I have a W124, e220 cab, 1994, and I was wondering if anyone knew what original radio came with the car. I want to restore it to the original specs. I have checked the Russian site using my VIN and nothing has come up there. I know it is either a techniques or blaupunkt ( with cassette).

The one at the bottom left, a JVC KD-S636 with CD is the original on my car, a 1994 C180.
There is probably no original as such, perhaps whatever was available or requested by the new owner at the time of purchase.

Not too sure about the UK but certainly in New Zealand they all came with a Blaupunkt Barcelona RCM 83 with 10 CD disk changer in the boot on the left side. The American's had something else, possibly because they had a six speaker option.

My 220 has a Technics headunit,but there were probably many others available.

My 94 SL320 the dealer fitted a Sony head unit.

Pretty sure the dealer fitted what they wanted at the time of PDI on the UK cars.

thanks guys,

i managed to get hold of a techniques with cd changer which apprently was fitted to all the w124 in japan.

going to fit it and see if i have any luck.

My 1989 W124 didn't come with a radio it was extra but had a Blaupunkt cassette radio when I picked it up. The extras you get in 5 years
