Vehicle assessor has confirmed that my car is damaged beyond economic repair. I am now negotiating with the insurance companies assessor to establish the market value of my vehicle.
Some of the arguments they've used to justify a lower value than my opinion:
- It was an ex demo vehicle so you never paid the new price.
- You never declared the factory fitted options when you insured the vehicle so we'll have to back date an increase in premiums.
- Because its an expensive vehicle a dealer will reduce the price to sell it quickly, the asking price is not the market value
- It will be cheaper to source a replacement outside the MB dealer network
- The sample list of similar vehicles you supplied is too small to be representative
