Out of character for me

Has the headrestraint already been activated? Looks like it should push back into its normal position

Tyres ?

Could this help with the headrest?

I'm guessing someone at work has sponsered you to clean it for Red Nose Day. Looks nice though....did any work colleagues possibly get you some polish to go with it?

Nah, I just decided to do it as the writing on the car was getting more and more. I also thought being February end we wouldn't have any more icey weather and salt would be off the roads for another 8-9months so cleaning it would be worthwhile.

Im sure those are the facelift W211 Anti Whiplash Head Restraints and not the ones in ***'s car

I don't think mine are "active" ones which pop out further in an accident (why on earth would they need to, even fully pushed in they stick out way too much - see my car in the gallery and look carefully at the head rests. Thats them fully pushed in :(

On Robbert Saunders post the head rests in my car look like the 1st two pictures, and like the pics WN posted.

I wonder what the luxury head restraints are. Maybe I could get those retrofitted? They may be better for my neck as it looks like they may stick out more.

Looks cool. I just wonder though if it will execerbate the problem as it may push my head even more forward when I drive.

I wonder sometimes if I should bend the head restraint metal adjusters that enable it to slide up and down. If you look closely and the 211 head rests on the pic you posted you see the metal bends so that the rest is pushed forward, I wonder if I try and bend it back it will take the head rest further back. However this may weaken the metal so come crunch time I am wary they may not provide any benefit

Put some tyre shine on it, cars never look finished until the tyres are black IMO

I must be mad, I've washed it again :D-I've had it now for 1 year virtually to date so its an anniversary present for her. Its been a great car for me and I've enjoyed my 1st, and hopefully not my last, year of benzing

I'll bring you tin of tyre dressing in May....

Safe driving courses advised that generally centre of skull shouldn't coincide with centre of head restraint.

But guidance on correct head restraint position can be found here. Seems to suggest otherwise though.
It says the same as MB in the handbook. Headrest should be high so back of head hits it in event of collision.
