Not sure how to go about this
could we have a vote who's merc is privatley owned, leased or company/business owned.
but will everyone admit to the truth !.
my reason for this is to see how may owners actually spend their own hard earned on servicing at the dealerships.i'm agreeing with mark t that merc servicing is a con and most members who use the service dept have cars that are business/company owned or leased.
i'd like to see a poll though..

how do we do this

cheers all

I think it's a good idea. To start the ball rolling my C200K Sport Edition is privately owned, which i have a 3 year Service Plus with main MB Dealer. It cost £85.00 PM (inflation proof) plus VAT.

Hope that helps.

My 2000 W208 is privately owned, under warranty until Sept 08, then will be serviced by and indy (may well be an Indy we know).

Added a poll. Is that the sort of thing?

Let me know any other options you want.

We have two Mercedes both privately owned and serviced by the main dealerships. can I have two votes please.

I thought Mark said Mobilo was a con, but he then said he neverm but that would be going off topic (joke):)

Regards
Two votes John or should that be two Jags (Mercedes)

I am interested in the results from this poll.

For the record my 2004 W203 is privately owned currently with full MB service record and NO warranty. Looking closely at local indys for future service needs.

Yup same here :)

Private, just out of warranty, and lovingly cared for by a specialist.

Private. Not needed servicing yet in my few moths of ownership so not bothered to hunt around for specialist/dealer prices yet. Its all been main dealer up to now so I guess I will decide to bend over and go with the flow when the time comes.

privately owned and paid for in full ....... service by specialist

me thinks the non owners may not join in .....so if you don't join in it should be assumed your car is owned by an other ..

Bought privately (so not from a dealer) privately owned and serviced at the main dealer for now because it's only a few years old so I may as well collect the stamps. However I have/will have additionally recommended work done by an indi wherever possible as I believe I know enough about cars to know what is what and when a dealer is taking the p*** as regards the charges for a service item (it might be a Merc...but it's still only a bl**dy car!!!)

At the moment, I'm intending to keep it for a quite a few years, so I can see a point when I no longer use the main dealer (Plan A was to buy a 2-seater pocket rocket as well, but I'm so busy it'll end up just sitting in the garage). But car is always kept in pristine condition, has a better spec than most and is also better looking than most others of the same model, (even if I say so myself!) due to the AMG bits. So come the time to sell it. I'm sure I'll have no problem passing it on to another private buyer, main dealer serviced or not.

Funny isn't it - I got my C220 at 2 years old, FMBSH, and I maintained that ethos through the time I owned it, all servicing at MB dealer, and many maintenance issues through them too (apart from bulbs and minor issues).

As for the Ford, I acquired it at 2 years old too, again full history, but apart from 1 visit back to the main dealer for a warranty issue, I have looked after it myself so far, with any service issues being dealt with through family/friends ....

Make of that what you will ;)

My cars are privatley owned, but I would be quite happy to tell you they were a private lease or a company vehicle if they were. I don't see that anyone would have anything to hide. You could argue a personal lease to be the wise finacial choice.

Had it from new privately owned and serviced by main dealer
