Paint code 197 (obsidian black)

Can anyone clarify for me whether there's 2 types of this paint (pearlescent and metallic) or just the one, pearlescent metallic.
I see it listed under either metallic or pearlescent, wondering if they're the same thing? Thanks.

I think it's the same mate. Mine's metallic

It will depend on the paint system. Some will have it as a metallic, some a pearl, and possibly some as an Xrillic. But (DB) 197 is the correct code.

Sometimes that is the case. It depends on what your definition of metallic or pearl is. If the OP asks for 197 it will be the right colour.

I'll look at my spec sheet when I get home and see what mine is as it is metallic but I wouldn't say pearl.

Data card of my CLS 55 just says its Obsidian Black.
Whether Pearl (which I doubt) or Metallic, it makes no difference, 197 is 197.

Mine is 197 u and definitely metallic. Remember seeing one for sale when I was looking saying pearl but didn't look it. Hope someone has a pic of a pearl one but here is mine.

Thanks for the replies, painting a few bits myself, the rest is going in a body shop for the kit fitting and painting.
