Yesterday, I dropped Mrs M at the local supermarket and decided to sit in the car while she grabbed a few bits. As I normally do I parked in a spot that was almost devoid of any other parked cars. After a few minutes a lady caught my attention as she attempted several times to park her car next to mine and on my side. For whatever reason? out of the 30+ empty bays surrounding me, she selected the bay next to me, eventually (after about three attempts) parked parallel to me but with obviously not enough room for her or me to exit our cars. Just as I was thinking "she will move again" BANG! she opens her door and clouts my wing mirror hard, and I do mean hard. As I start to wind down my window, she looks at me and says "you are parked to far over on my side". WTF? I am bang in the center of a bay in the middle of fifteen empty bays.
I asked, why she chose to park next to me and not use another of the empty bays? "You parked here, it's a free car park and I can park here".
I said you have hit my car! She responded "You should not have parked so close to mine".
I had to pull forward to get out to look at my car for any damage. Luckily there was none visible (she had clouted the wind mirror).
Why would somebody choose to try and park in spot that is obviously difficult for them to do so, when the car park is empty? Having done so and clouted the car next to you, why then accuse that person of causing the incident?
On the simple point of good manners I could see that there was no argument to have.
You just want to give up. I did wonder if she were related to the shirtless massively overweight bloke who was sat in the doctors waiting room on Friday, eating a Family Bucket of KFC whilst making a noise similar to a Clydesdale Horse walking up a gravel path.
When asked by the receptionist to put on his shirt he replied "I ain't Fíng got one"
