Parking sensors or unit???

Got a sensor if you want. I bought 2 off eBay but only needed 1 and it worked fine

£15 posted

Is it non genuine
I need to work out which fitment minę is first, how easy is it to remove the front strip.
Plus ebay ones are 15 new and i can return if needed

Yes it's not an original. I bought 2 for £34 from the UK. Can't see any reason why it wouldn't work as it's never been out the box but heyho it'll save me the hassle of posting it.
It's awkward at first getting the strip off as there are basically 12 catches to negotiate but it's one of those jobs that once you've done it you can do it blindfolded next time

If you put your finger on each sensor when they are on the knackered one often vibrates.

Tried this today couldnt feel anything .
Both with car on and off.
Really difficult with car on

Car has to be on and in reverse so the sensors are on.

You just have to hold the tip of your finger on really lightly and you can feel the knackered one vibrate slightly.

Hi Been away, but look on ebay, sellers name universelinkauto i just looked and he does not seem to have any listed at the moment, but there are others on there mine were the oval shaped ones, i tryed touching but could not feel anything when i change it so you are not alone good luck. put in mercedes parking sensors with you model on and ebay should link it up for you.

Manged to remove the strip without breaking anything but I have one last question on the fault code printout it says the left side is that the passenger or drivers ?

To test the sensors without STAR:

Put the ignition on (don't start the car)
Put the car in reverse gear
Release the foot brake (note the car could roll, chock the wheels)
The sensors will activate and give you the red leds of death
Now place your ear close to the sensor, working sensors click repeatedly. Non-working sensors are usually silent.

Got myself a used genuine bosch in same colour :-)
Fitting was a pain but got it done. Now all work fine.
Can anything be done i.e sealing them to prevent others failing or is it one of those things ...
