Parking Sensors

Just developed an annoying fault on the S211, as soon as I set off the parking sensors show 2 red lights on the left and right in both the front and back of the car, accompanied by a long tone.
I think this has been mentioned in another thread, but I cant find it.
So if anyone knows what may cause this I would be very grateful!

Sounds more like a controller fault? Unless perhaps you have just waxed the car?

Tried wiping the sensors, but no good.
Is there a way to test the controller?

Are you saying that the rear display lights up when you are going forwards? The rear should only come up when you select reverse.

I've just (2 days ago) sorted out the fault with mine. It was a faulty sensor. Replaced it and all is good now.

As soon as I put the car in drive or reverse the lights come on, there are 4 sets of lights each showing two red lights and a constant tone.

Put it on STAR and read off the codes...

Yep, STAR is your way forward.
Get yourself to an indy. STAR will tell you if it's an individual sensor/s or the control unit itself.
Sensors are about forty pounds each. I think the control unit is about 150 pounds. But no point in speculating at this point.
Let's see what STAR says.

I'm afraid they're correct. Symptoms are of a duff sensor. You could use the trial and error approach but if you have more than one duff that doesn't work. Sensors are £40 each. Usually one of the outside rears cos they get all the road dirt and it traps in the rubber boots.

Have you checked for stone chips on the sencors ? If one has a large stone chip then this is most likley one to be faulty
