Well, the manufacturer's warranty expires in mid-January, so I am thinking of dipping my toes into some aftermarket performance upgrades. AMG / Brabus / Kleeman are the obvious choices - any others I should be considering?

I'm not interested in bodykits etc, I'd rather have subtle performance upgrades to the engine/brakes/exhaust etc. Ideas?

I would leave the mechanicals exactly as they are if I were you. You have a lovely car with a really good spec. Why reduce its value with performance add-ons!

Personally I found the throttle reset procedure made a huge difference to my car. So much so that I dont think I need any performance enhancements.

Brabus tuning would be the buisness... and a good mod to the engine for extra performance. Brabus are the Daddy for engine tuning/mods to standard MB engines...

Theer is Lorinser/Carlson (part of teh same group...) but aftree looking at their bodykits I am put off them full stopand would not want them touching my car if I was in your postion...

I hear what you're saying, that's why I don't want any visual changes to the car. Just performance upgrades...I'd forgotten about the throttle reset - I'll do that too.

I've just found that Kleemann offer a Kompressor add-on for the V6. They claim it does the following for performance:

Standard

0-60 7.4
Top speed 240 km/h
Horsepower 218
Torque 310

Kleeman

0-60 5.8
Top speed 250 km/h
Horsepower 331
Torque 441

Hmmmm....

And the price is?

what sort of warranty do they offer?

Do they have an workshop in the UK? Or is it an agent?

Prices just received....

Supercharger 331 HP/441NM £7,995
Brakes £4,895
Sports Exhaust £576.72

Ouch! Can't see me getting away with that! Not sure whether it is an agent but there is a place in Sussex that does the work. Warranty of 3 years and 60,000 miles is what I read on the website but don't know what that covers.

would have been cheaper to get a CLK55 convertible ... very rare though

You're right but they were never officially imported into the UK until the model change (according to this month's Mercedes Enthusiast anyway). That's probably why they are like rocking horse droppings.

I have seen one .. in MB Canary Wharf
