phone cradle software

I have a Sony K800i phone in a 211 e class estate.I costantly get signal variation and dropped calls.last year I replaced the phone & the cradle with direct replacement new units.The fault still appeared.Same on our other car.I have had the rest of the system checked by MB.Fault found myself and details below.

had the chance 2 weeks ago at our Scotish GTG to try the units and swap all variations in *** 1s car.Same cradle,phone ,network etc.His showed full 5 bar signal, mine 2 bars.

Is there a software problem as phone seemed to be proved the fault.I.e is the MB software in cradle not compatible.

I am so pee`d off with this set up which i have put up with for a year & a half , i am considering HFP and a car charger.

Anyone help wih this conundum?

There is no SW in the cradle that would affect signal strength. Are you sure it isn't your antenna feeder loss compensator? You could try to bypass it.

I did not fully follow your tests. You have two cars yourself and your cradle does not work on either one? Did it work with the foreign car at the GTG? How did you conclude it is the SW at the cradle?

It did not work properly (phone /cradle combo)in both our cars.At the GTG it did not work as a phone cradle combo in both cars.Changed phone /cradle no change ,Changed sim etc.It turned out with all combos ,my phone was the common denominator.Therefore ***`s phone may have bben olderand software more compatibale with cradles.This ia the most frustrating fault to clarify.

I have a k700i and cradleand works perfectly,but phone is now a big bit tatty.this then sorts out aeriel feeder loss.
