Neighbor just picked it up. This new V6 sounds terrible upon start up Lots of clicking/clacking and does not sound like the old one which had a nice throaty roar. I think that has to do with this new direct injection technology. Power is very good though on this new model, breezes easily to 120mph without breaking a sweat. Fuel economy is also excellent compared to the old V6 which gave a dismal average of 18mpg. This new one averages around 22mpg. Not bad at all for a 300 hp SUV.

I SO much prefer the look of my 164 ML, at least it had character. Why on earth did MB decide to come up with that Japanese-inspired design?
