Went down piucked up car yesterday am so happy with it :bannana: , haven't maxed it yet but the car is lovely to drive definitly gives the :D factor. One thing I want to know is on the C180 classic 1996 model on the fuel gauge clock part should the display tell you the temprature outside or does it not tell you on that model?

Ok. Thing is i'm not bothered if I have it or not but if its ment to work then would like to know so I can take it back to garage to get it fixed. But have a feeling it might not be on that model, hoping someone here will know?

It probably doesn't have it.

LH / nearside vent in bottom bumper iirc has the sensor, no sensor, not there, sensor - not working? - its about 2" long 10mm diameter black plastic bar...

i stand to be corrected

The outside temperature indicator was an option for your car, and as Guy has already said, you can check it on the car, or alternatively you could check your service book for a code on the card at the back. You could go into the stealership with your chassis number, and they can look up all the spec/options originally fitted to your car, and if you ask nicely, they can print this off for you ;)

HTH,

Will

Thanks for your help shall check car today, might try going to garage for the print out, but my local mercedes garage is not the most helpful garage in the world! This forum is great for posting problems on it amazing so many people with so much knowlege fantastic! What a forum :D

outside temp display

I have a 1994 C180 Elegance and it does not have this display even though there is a place for it on the speedo. My other car is a 1997 C180 Classic and it definitely has this outside temp display on the speedo. If its meant to be in there, it lights up when the door opens, together with the mileage counter and the clock. They all light up when the engine is started or the headlights are turned on. I am pretty sure they were not supplied in the C180s until 1997, correct me if I am wrong. :bannana:

Like everything back then, it was an option, I think from facelift they were fitted as standard.

Ok cool. Just am always para that when I buy a car they will sell it to me with something broken. I cheaked and there is no vent for it! ;)
I was driving the other day and suddenly realised why everyone on this board mentions the :D :D :D factor
