Pirtek for pipe replacement

My 320e decided to spit oil all over the floor a few weeks back , on investigting further i found a long pipe running from th egearbox up into the rad which had corroded and rubbed on other power steering pipes making a small hole , I was about to call MB we ll i say about it took me about 30 minutes to get the pipe off which included getting my ribs stuck under the front cross member ( funny how you can shimmy into these places when you just need to get an inch further ) after numerous bits of road falling in my eye i got it off and thought Ah thi slooks expensive . I call a friend and they said go to Pirtek , I did and £28.00 later had a new pipe with new unions , and flexi all the same as the old pipe , it was getting on for a metre in total length and i was amazed , They made the pipe in under 20 minutes for me too . There all over the country and the guys seem happy to help so give them a try for any pipe flexi etc .

those pipes are readily available from merc dealers but useful to have a back up source.

hope you refilled the gearbox.

yes i did refill it i didnt use benz as i guessed they would be a lot more than £28.00 and i doubt i would have walked out with one and had it back on the car within the hour .. reg pics , ive tried uploading from photo bucket but cant so here are the codes .

not one of our cars is in a pristine condition , the most work is needed on the w124 i bought it to tidy i need to put wings on and has some marks here and there , the grille needs re doing with more scotch brite and more acid , but we will get there , the c230 has many issues and i wonder some times if it deserves the badge on it , the little 190e although rough drives like the mercs used to , these car are no 3 , 4 ,5 of our merc ownership . ive had a 88 560sel , 300e amg kitted ( factory or at least factory order ) now these . still ove the w124 but iam beginning to wonder how much i will get the C class on the track as something seems to become an issue every week .

Remember that car you`ve got it of ebay last year,and i even know what you`ve paid.I was going to buy it but i wanted one with elec seats.Very nice car,but get an avangarde grill though

Are those arches just regular chrome ones sprayed black, or did they come in black? Can you post a close up photo of the arches?

Car was cheap yes best thing is ive since got a agreed insurance value of £10,000 it will take about £2000.00 to get the car right so if you add that to the cost it wasnt so cheap . also it has chroome arches which are masking some of the bodywork issues , i just scotch brighted then and painted then matt black just as a for now , it runs out of mot and tax soon so ill be doing all the work ready for summer . iam into keeping it standard my old w124 has orange lens for indicators and teh old 80's style plastic in red and orange across the back , i plan to turn this back to looking like a hammer rather than what it is now .

I now what you mean but once you`ve got it sorted,you know i`ll be worth it.As for the indicators,i`ve always thought that prefacelift cars look better on orange

Where do you get them from the advangarde grill? ebay?

I like old school stuff and this has alsorts of newer bits put on it but in general it goes like stink will pull rolling burn out and is also composed and grown up all round perfect car for me just need , new coilovers , tyres , wings , rear arch kit , indicators and rear lenses . it seems an endless list but . how did you fit the arches to the car - drill holes for self tappers or clips ?

I only ask because I also use colour coded arches with clips (until new wings fitted) but the clips catch on tyres sometimes.
