Hi Guys,

I'm able to acquire a Sportline steering box which has been fully refrubed. Can anyone tell me if the Pitman arm from my old box (standard) can be used or is the Sportline arm different?

Background info to my question:

I'll be in the process of converting my coupe to a Sportline chassis with the exception of the shocks and springs. (B8's together with a set of springs similar to what i'm running at the moment)

To make things simple i've also aquired a whole rear subframe which has been preped and shot blasted, painted black with Sportline rubber mounts installed. It'll be a straight swap with all new links and arms for the rear including the fitting kit and new diff mounts. This will give me a chance while the frame is out to inspect the condition around the areas once removed. (i'd be greatful if you guys can suggest things to look for/ replace under there while the frame is out)

The front wishbones together with the front and rear arbs with bushings will be also changed.

Back to the steering box question, the steering links and idlers will also be replaced to gain an over all steering refurb.

This Sportline conversion will form a part of an overall overhaul to the coupe inside and out. I've been planning and collecting bits for a long time and am running out of space quick!

the steering box and the pitman arm are one complete unit and are not sold individually.

the position of the p/arm on the splines of the box are a critical measurement.

the whole unit for my 320 coupe is :

124 460 64 01 standard

124 460 63 01 sports.

the p/arm number on the arm is the same for both and is :

2420 for rhd cars

2419 for lhd cars

I cannot see that the 220 vehicles should be any different.

hope this helps.
