Assuming you have a legitimate Mercedes supplied DAS system, I would call their DAS helpline.

You probably pulled the plug from the car with the HHT programme still alive.

Re-start the lap top and all should be ok.

i tried everything still the same problem please help

Try looking at the active processes in Windows Task Manager and kill any you think may be using (intentionally blocking) the serial port.

You may have a problem with your interface cable between the car diagnostic port and the computer. I suggest this because its the part most likely to be damaged electrically/mechanically

First try the computer/connector on a car that you know for certain it worked on before to eliminate any specific car problem.

Then try testing the computer port with a "loopback connector" see http://www.airborn.com.au/rs232.html and many other internet sources- [may not be handshaking correctly] -after that you are left with the cable. A good local computer shop could probably check the computer RS232 side for you

Please help with DAS STAR Dign.

Dear Fayro,

I was searching the internet for a solution to my problem, and I ran across your post regarding that the RS232 is occuppied by another program. Did you ever find a solution for that. I would really appreciate any kind of help you can give me.
Thanks Jesse
