LOL:D thats how I've ended up owner of 35 cars in only 15 years of driving:thumb:

Though to be honest in this climate, your likely get a a hostile reaction from those who hug trees, est 4 MPG?

Go on buy it :D

Single figure MPG 5 or 6 and maybe 50mph.

I guy I know has one, its great fun. He hires it out for special occasions. He's done quite a bit for the local hospice recently. You may find the mpg a little disappointing though!

No good as a single handed drive you need someone up top too. You need to spec it up as JOB-BLACK-RAT says. Emissions is a nightmare at MoT time.

Its an AFV - Armoured Fighting Vehicle, has someone pi**ed you off that much lately.

4 MPG isn't bad... my drive to work is only 7 miles or so (each way).

So, if get 40p per mile in tax refund for mileage, that's £1.60 towards a gallon of fuel... hmmm... so I would need to chip in roughly £2.40 towards each gallon (on a 100 gallon tank, that's £240)

I used to hug trees, I still have my WWF ambassador (or was it greenpeace?) certificate somewhere for my help in cleaning up a russian antarctic base or something like that...

So another question... you mentioned rubber tracks... do they make summer and winter tracks? :p

I wonder what Primo would say if I wanted to add that to my policy...

But seriously... how much does a set of tracks cost? and how long do they last? Or maybe better, not including fuel... what's the annual cost of maintaining such a vehicle? I had budgetted for a CL500/600 a while ago and almost bought it... (stopped only because the seller was an ass)

(all kidding aside, I am seriously considering buying it as a sunday car... I tend to do a lot of offroading, for which I use a shogun... this would be... well... unique!)

Are you serious??!!

You really think we're going to stop you buying that??!!

We'd all have one if our significant others would let us.

Actually it would be an even better club if at least one member had one. So take one for the club. Do it for us.

:D

So Mr JOB-BLACK-RAT in the event of a moving traffic violation how would you pull Mr Spinal over for an interview without coffee. I guess you just wait for him to run out of fuel:devil::D

Oh bugger it................

4K with get you a set of Bobcat track suitable for road use, 1 cat track is equal to 2 for your APV......no REALLY..........BUY IT. So you looking at approx 16 grand to hoist and replace both sides.

Bargain............buy it, go on.........its cheap:doh:

Go the other way and get a Haflinger or one of the Scottish 4 x 4s, bugger memories going, was it called a Stonecraft or something.

You do not need a sawn off tank.

Expensive rubber...

I had a look around - seems like I may be able to get away with just replacing the rubber "pads" on the tracks instead of the actual tracks...

So...
+ Tax exempt
+ No road rage
+ Range (100gallons@4mpg = 400miles roughly what my W202 does)

- Fuel consumption
- Servicing would be... well... difficult... I doubt the ramps at pit start would cope with it

This is a slippery slope though...
Military vehicles, militaria and military classifieds

That one doesn't even have the problem of tracks...

EDIT: Another +: seems like I can convert it to multifuel quite easily (I'm assuming veggy oil as it's a diesel)

Carefully and really REALLY politely:D

Where was that NRA sticker... oh right, police in the UK don't know how to approach a pickup with an NRA sticker ;)

M.
EDIT: Funny you should mention the tatra... My father bought a Ural something or other only a few months ago... I was VERY impressed by the outside... (the inside is a little spartan, and a PAIN to drive)

3mpg, if you are light footed. Tracks are expensive and don't last long.

On the other hand no one cuts you up. Just do it:)
