My satnav is powered by miniUSB and I want to tuck away all wiring etc.

Came across this which looks ideal! Two questions:
  1. I think it may give 5v/1000 mA output but the plug that comes with the satnav says 5v/1500 mA. Can I cause any damaage? Guessing it will just charge a bit slower
  2. Should I put an inline fuse on for safety? If so, what size fuse?
Many thanks

The sat nav as the electrical load will draw more current than the unit can supply so it may cause overheating. Always use a power supply that has sufficient capacity for the appliance.

Thanks for this. The item description says:

Use imported and integrated switching regulator modules manufacturing, quality is stable and reliable.
Synchronous rectification, the conversion rate is 96% or more, very low heat.Over voltage, over current, over temperature, short circuit, it can be auto protection, and can work in normal condition when restored.
Apart from the pidgin englsh (!) does that cover your point?

Thanks

It is difficult to know exactly what the "technical" description really means but it suggests that an excess current draw amd / or high temperatures will cause it to automatically shut down as a protective measure so it may spend most of the time cycling on and off if used as you intend?
