pre fuel filter location

hi guys
just wondered if anyone here owns a 1990 300td estate and knows if these are fitted with a pre filter (fuel).

in the haynes manual it mentions a pre filter fitted before the main fuel filter.
anyone know what these look like and ever need changing.

i had a look on the EPC but couldnt find it either.

Fuel Pre-Filter

It'll look like one of these:
(I'm partial to the Clear Bosch one,So I can see any contamination or Air.)

It's in (In Line)the Black Rubber Fuel Hose which runs from the Hard Metal
Fuel Line (Coming from the Fuel tank,Astern) to: Either your Fuel Thermostat
or directly to the Fuel Lift Pump on the side of the Injection Pump.

In the Pictogram: #43 is the fuel pre-filter,#86 is the Fuel thermostat and
#3 is the Lift pump on the side of the Injection Pump.

The Thermostat is simply a Fuel Pre-Heater.
(I've mine By Passed ,since Winter here is 6 weeks of 32 degree "F" weather)
