Pressure sensor question c63 my12

I have just had a pressure warning for my rear near side tyre so I stopped at the garage to check the pressure but as I removed he dust cap the valve sheared leaving the top part in he cap.

I could get a replacement valve fitted or get Merc to sort the problem out. My only question is where does the pressure sensor reside in the valve or is it calculated by the electronics? I am assuming it valve related as the dash gives a psi reading. I should hive it back to Merc as I see this as a warranty issue but a its my daily commute a quick fix is preferable.

The sensor is part of the valve. the tyre needs to be removed to replace the part and a standard valve down your local fitter won't work. so I would get it back to the dealer and maybe ask for a courtesy car if its your daily driver
