Problem With Light On A Class Instrument Pannel

Hi all,

new to the site,

Just got myself an old A-Class,

Got a 170CDI 2000 A-Class,

there is a light on the dash board/instrument pannel that is on and i cant find out what it is, ive been through the manual cover to cover,

it is at the top left hand corner above the rev counter and it is orange and it is like 2 circles or 2 loops,

anyone any idea what it is and how i get it to go away?

na, thats no it,

the brake pad light is a circel with 3 dash's at each side, this is like 2 loops with both ends open, sounds confusing to describe.

any other idea's?

when i was driving today that light was on all day so it didnt go off,

what should i do?

There is one or more glow plugs probably at fault. They need replacing idealy.

They are a bit tricky to get to compared to most MB's but still do-able.

If it's permenantly on then it's probably the control unit faulty as opposed to a plug gone.
If a plug burns out the light goes off after a minute or two.
