I had COMAND NTG2.5 retrofitted by Alfie and Richard last year.

It works flawlessly with my Nokia 6700 Classic.

I am now thinking of getting a new handset, which will be either Nokia 6720 Classic or BlackBery Pearl 3g.

Just wondering if anyone could comment re compatibility of these two handsets?

Obviously, the last thing I want is to have new handset which will not work with my COMAND (or will not work as well as my current Nokia).

Thanks!

Well, as no one seems to have tested either handset with NTG2.5, I guess I'll stick to my 6700. Getting a new handset would be nice, but I can't risk it not working with COMAND...

Im sure we could sort out a test of the phones with NTG 2.5 if you can lay your hands on either/both?

Thanks Alfie, I may be able to - if so I'll let you know.

Can't tell you too much in direct relation to the COMAND 2.5 because i only have 2.0 Installed, but, i did have a Pearl 3G for some time, and had it connected to the standard pre-wire kit (UHI socket in glovebox) via a ViseeO MB-2 and found it a little flakey and unreliable, and switched to a SAP v2 cradle which i found more reliable.

My thoughts are that the COMAND 2.5 does not utilise SAP connectivity, but instead connects more like the ViseeO, so should work in theory with 99% of bluetooth handsets

I also had an S class not too long ago, that had COMAND with a similar looking interface/GUI to the NTG 2.5 and the Pearl 3G connected to it with no problems, in fact it was better than in my car !

My Blackberry 8900 worked fine, as do Iphone 4's in my retro fitted NTG 2.5. You should have no problems.
