Hi

my R107 SL i've just bought has a series of different bolts on the alloy wheels. There are a mixture of differnt sized heads and lengths of thread in them and some are really stuck in and some are easy to come out. some i assume are meant for steel wheels, others for later mercs :(

so, to cut a long story short, i need a full set of new bolts (x50)

I've checked Mercedes who are priced at £50 for the set.

There are plenty of cheaper alternatives on eBay but i need to know the spec of the correct bolts before ordering.

can anyone give me the spec/thread size etc etc of the original R107 SL wheel bolts in 1985 and this is for the Mexican Hat style alloy wheel.

also of course if anyone knows of a good cheaper supplier then i'd be interested to know :)

thanks in advance!!

derek

PM sent :)

get them from alloy wheels direct. they are standard mercedes size... dont get the ones with the extended shank... they look good but can break...

i've ordered 1 bolt from Mercedes. I only have 4 suspect bolts - all the rest are the same so i assume they are the correct ones. i've ordered 1 bolt to compare.

otherwise i'll check out alloywheelsdirect. I was told 107 and 129 cars use different alloy wheel bolts than later mercs, so are the ones on alloywheelsdirect correct?

update - new correct bolt ordered from MB and confirmed that its very similar (but not identical) to majority of my existing bolts - so all i need is 4 new bolts rather than replace the whole lot.
