I have a cd changer on the right hand side of my boot which I am going to remove as doesn't work with the head unit I've installed. This is just going to leave me with a hole. Should there have been a covering there originally? Can't find it on my EPC. I know that the first aid kit should have sat there. Anyone have any ideas/photos of that area of their boot/part nos. for the covering?
Thanks

Matt, I don't have a CD changer so can't help with your specific query ... but have you tried your local dealership parts dept.? Obviously they vary, but mine are very helpful and most bits & pieces I've ordered for my SL have been surprisingly cheap. I also have EPC (and WIS) but things like colour codes can make it confusing when looking for interior parts.

The CD changer has always been fitted on the left - the right hand side is the battery compartment and filler cap cover. There is a trim panel that cover these - do you have a photo of yours?

Probably will be a couple of days for the photos. Don't really want to go outside as it's bucketing it down with snow, and then away in London for a couple of days, so probably going to be Wednesday. Just seems to be too much of the chassis showing around where the CD changer is located, compared to the nicely covered battery on the other side. Just a big hole with a changer in it!

Maybe you have your right and left mixed up? The CD changer can be mounted either in the cubby hole on the left or on the inside of the left rear wing - there is a trim part that covers this and the CD changer swings out on a bracket on european cars.

This is a US car - the CD changer on mine is where the first aid kit appears mounted in a bracket with the trim cover that is colour coded to your interior:

Sorry, yes right and left the wrong way round. My CD changer is in the same position as the picture. Just wondered if there was some additional trim to cover this area. If your cd changer is where the first aid kit is, what do you have below in the cubby? Is it covered with trim?

If it's in the cubby then no, that's as good as it gets (although the actual cubby should be lined with the same trim you see in the boot area).

You can get a trim cover for the swing out CD changer - I saw one on eBay recently too - a search in completed items may bring it up.
